Payday: The Heist Free on Steam for 24 hours

Starting on Thursday, October 16th, at 10 AM Pacific standard time, Payday: The Heist will be free to download for anyone with a steam account.

To celebrate the third anniversary of the PAYDAY franchise, fresh stock is hitting DC's criminal underbelly, and we want you to take a big at slice. Fill your loot bags - we got masks, guns, new game features and many more exciting things. We're aiming for a cool 1.5 million community members by october 18th, so get involved and join the Official Payday 2 group on steam.

After achieving their goal early, their announcement read,

PAYDAY: The Heist for free for 24 hours via Steam Thursday morning at 10AM Pacific

To celebrate that you reached the goal earlier than anticipated, we're giving out PAYDAY: The Heist for free via Steam Thursday morning at 10AM Pacific and going forward for 24 hours. This was going to happen on the 18th originally but since you guys did such an awesome job we want to give you the reward as soon as possible.

Tell your friends and family that they can download PAYDAY: The Heist for free on Thursday morning of October 16th at 10AM Pacific. We'll give out clear instructions on how to download it come Thursday.

Updates: Initially, the article claimed that Payday 2 was being given away, this has been corrected. The article also claimed that it retailed for $30 - while true for Payday 2, the original only costs $15. This has also been fixed. Apologies for any confusion.
