PAX

One of the leading gaming festivals of the USA, PAX is highly anticipated in both East and West Coasts. This year's PAX West will have plenty of surprises, and so will the tabletop-focused PAX Unplugged, started in 2017. The dates for both events have been announced by the event's organizers. You'll be able to attend the Seattle festival from August 30 to September 2, while the PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia will go from December 6 to 9.

There are yet no confirmed developers or publishers, but PAX West will definitely feature the same dimensions of PAX East, anchored by massive exhibition halls where attendees have the opportunity to interact with hundreds of gaming companies, both small and indie studios and major AAA developers and publishers. Our very own editor-in-chief was present at last year's PAX West, where he interviewed the developers of Astroneer and checked out games such as Windjammer 2 and Streets of Rage 4Young Souls, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Gato Roboto, My Friend Pedro, Rend, and Super Meat Boy Forever. Our coverage of this year's PAX East also had a few exciting moments, such as the Borderlands 3 teaser and subsequent announcement. We look forward to PAX West 2019 in the hopes of other big announcements.

This year's PAX Unplugged will actually be the 50th PAX event to date, and it will take place in a larger expo hall. The co-founder of PAX and Penny Arcade, Jerry Holkins, talked about the milestone:

When we came up with all this, I don’t think we could ever have imagined putting on 50 of these events and counting. We can’t wait to welcome the gaming community to our home in Seattle this summer, and to our Winter Lair in Philadelphia this December. We hope you’ll be able to join us.
You'll be able to purchase tickets for PAX Unplugged on May 9, whereas PAX West badge sales start in May. For more updates on PAX West 2019, follow PAX on Twitter and Facebook. You can also visit the official website for PAX West and PAX Unplugged.
