Well… I certainly wasn’t expecting this to come from A Voyeur for September: but it looks like the previously announced Team Meat title was instead an Anagram for the next title in the Super Meat Boy series, Super Meat Boy Forever.

Some (admittedly janky) footage supplied by Team Meat’s blog post.

Detailed in a recent blog post, Team Meat explains what to make of this new title; and as can be gleamed by looking over the footage, Super Meat Boy: Forever will in fact be releasing on mobile platforms alongside a PC release:

Our goal with SMB:F is to design a new full length platformer for touch devices from the ground up to avoid tacking bad controls on an existing design. we want to make something that embodies the original Super Meat Boy but is designed around a simple yet intuitive control scheme allowing for pin point accuracy and surprisingly deep controls without the use of multiple buttons/analog sticks.

Some other information of note is the fact that despite it’s looks; Super Meat Boy: Forever will NOT be an endless runner, instead opting for a Bit.Trip RUNNER approach (though it will have a procedurally generated level system, and an endless mode, according to the team). It will also supposedly be “a mobile game that does not abuse your wallet”, though details on whether the game will be freemium or premium on mobile platforms has not been revealed as of yet.

Previously announced title Mewgenics has been potentially delayed due to this new development as well, though it still remains in development, but rather on the back-burner due to the teams size. Team Meat hopes to fully return to the title once Super Meat Boy: Forever is out the door.

No release date, pricing, or potential promotions for owners of their previous titles have been announced; though Super Meat Boy: Forever is aiming for a launch sometime next year.
