After Pathfinder: Kingmaker was delayed to September, developer Owlcat Games promised further updates for backers and others interested in the upcoming RPG.

Yesterday, the developers posted on their Kickstarter page the plans for the extra content for Kingmaker, in particular discussing the numerous pre-order versions of the game that are available on websites such as GOG.

There will be, in total, four editions of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, each of them incorporating several pre-order bonuses, including a full-fledged Season Pass for major DLC content post-launch.

The basic package is the Explorer Edition, which is the main game and some minor DLC for $39.99. The Noble Edition, priced at $54.99, will include a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, two in-game portraits, and premium in-game items. The Royal Edition is priced at $64.99 and adds a digital map of the Stolen Lands along with an in-game pet and a tabletop RPG Adventure Module written by designer Chris Avellone.

The big package is the Imperial Edition. Priced at $84.99, it includes all of the previous bits of content along with the Season Pass. Owlcat games was quick to point out that all of the content for the season pass is post-release, meaning none of it was cut from the base game. Much of the content will be released through several DLC packs, three of which are included in the season pass of the Imperial Edition. There are no details as to what the DLC packs contain, but fans and backers have requested additional races, classes, and other content over the entire development process, so it is likely that Owlcat will be adding some of those requests to Kingmaker through these DLC.

Owlcat notes that the season pass will contain roughly $40 worth of DLC, pricing it at $15 for the entire pass in total. Backers are also not left in the dust either. Any backers of Kingmaker who pledged $95 or more from the for their beta-tier access on the Kickstarter, or $110 on their crowdfunding-preorder session, will receive the season pass for free.

One interesting thing to note is that Owlcat hinted at future DLC beyond the season pass, implying that players will get even more content in the far future.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is based on the Kingmaker Adventure Path, and is the first true adaptation of the Pathfinder rules set by tabletop developer Paizo. The game is scheduled to release on September 25th for the PC.
