Today, Grinding Gear Games announced that the PlayStation 4 release of Path of Exile has been delayed from a December release to February 2019, after recently being announced. Chris Wilson, the co-founder of Grinding Gear Games, states that the delay is due to the certification process during the Christmas period:
We underestimated the amount of work it would take to finish the certification process during the busy Christmas period. While we hope to have everything ready in January, we feel a lot more comfortable promising early February as a target release window. This will also give us time to work on game performance/frame rate, which we feel could be improved before release.Seems reasonable enough. It is definitely a blow for those who were waiting with bated breath for the PlayStation 4 release, but there are many fine games that have been released for the PS4 this year, along with dozens of other fine exclusives for the system. Wraeclast is still coming ARPG fans. Just wait and play other games in the meantime.

I've always had a soft spot for Path of Exile. I was one of the lucky ones to get a beta key back in the day, and I played it a ton before I burned out. Every two years or so, I check in to see how the game is shaping up. Now, though, after more than five years since its release, it seems that Path of Exile really has come into its own, which is great. I've never got around to playing a Witch, and I'll probably make one and see how it goes. Maybe I'll get to Act III this time.What do you think of this news?
