Today in the preshow to the Sony PlayStation Event at Paris Games Week Sony took the time to announce The Gardens Between for PlayStation 4. It showed off a beautiful art style that was very stylish to go with the single-player narrative puzzle gameplay.

In The Gardens Between you play as two friends exploring a surreal world of mysterious gardens and attempt to solve various puzzles as you move through the dreamlike environments. Arina and Frendt, the characters, can control the flow of time to some degree, moving it forwards and backwards. Solving puzzles often involves manipulating the world with single button controls to alter how objects move through time and upon solving them you ignite constellations and learn more of the narrative.

The story in The Gardens Between aims to explore childhood, growing up, and friendship, and beyond direct narrative moments makes a lot of use of the abstract art style to make use of symbolism and hidden meanings.

The Gardens Between will be releasing on PlayStation 4 in Q3 2018, and will release at the same time on PC and Mac. It will be playable for the first time later this year at the PlayStation Experience in December
