Today, Paradox Interactive announced that it had acquired Triumph Studios, the development studio that created the Age of Wonders and Overlord series.

They are world-leading within their niche and have built a large and dedicated community over the years, counting quite a few Paradox employees among their hardcore fans. We have great faith in Lennart, Arno and the Triumph team, and our main focus now is to ensure that they can continue to create their magic under new ownership,”The Age of Wonders series, Triumph Studios' most successful series, has sold in excess of one million copies to date. Quick Take
This... actually makes a ton of sense. From what I remember, Age of Wonders 3 took so long to arrive due to a lack of funding, so with Paradox Interactive's funding and relative hands-off approach to developing games, this could really be a matchup worth getting excited about. I never really got into Age of Wonders 3, (or the genre itself, really) but I did enjoy my time while playing it and I can see why Paradox would want to invest in Triumph Studios. If you were to put me down for anything, put me down for 'cautiously excited.' I'm very much interested seeing how this purchase bears fruit.What do you think of this purchase?
