Overwatch Roadhog Heroic Emote Dorado

Overwatch Principal Designer Geoff Goodman has responded to a forum thread that presented an idea for buffing Roadhog's defense. In his response, Mr. Goodman has detailed their currently in progress Roadhog buff that they are working on.

Roadhog was originally changed in the same patch that released the Horizon Lunar Colony map. His Scrap Gun damage was decreased by 33%, his rate of fire was increased by 30%, and his magazine size was increased from 4 shots to 5 shots. However, the changes weren't necessarily received well by the community; buffs to the character were originally mentioned as being "internally tested" in a forum post earlier this month alongside details about a number of upcoming fixes for Reinhardt. (The Reinhardt fixes have since been put onto the PTR for testing and are likely to be included in an upcoming patch.)

At the moment, Roadhog has a buff to his Take A Breather ability (his self-heal) being tested internally. Players using Take A Breather will take 50% less damage for the duration of the ability. Additionally, he'll be able to move at full speed when using his self-heal; in the current version of the game, Roadhog stands completely still while using Take A Breather.

Mr. Goodman closes the post by stating that this defensive buff might be "too strong right now", but he follows that by stating that they will have time to make adjustments if need be. Blizzard plans to bring this change alongside unspecified changes to other heroes to the Overwatch PTR at some point in the future.

What do you think of the proposed Roadhog buff for Overwatch? Do you feel that his defenses should be increased and he should keep his current offensive capabilities, or do you believe that he ought to be reverted to an earlier state where he was able to do more damage? Do you miss the one-shot hook combo? Let us know in the comments below!
