The Overwatch PTR has pushed a patch containing the new Rialto map, changes to Hanzo, and a nerf to Tracer according to a post from Community Manager Tom Powers on the game's official forums.

The Hanzo changes that have been talked about for several months are finally in a playable state on the Overwatch PTR. Hanzo no longer has his Scatter Arrow ability. He has instead gained the "Storm Arrows" ability which allows him to fire up to 6 arrows that deal slightly reduced damage but are nonetheless shot at full draw power. He's also gained a horizontal leap, triggered by hitting the jump key a second time after jumping once.

Rialto is the latest map to make its way into the game. First debuted in the Retribution event, the PVP version of Rialto is set in the daytime as an Escort map. Attackers must escort a hover forklift from an art gallery through the city to a building that appears to be a Talon headquarters. Have a look at this gallery to get an idea of how the new map looks:

Some other Overwatch heroes have had some changes in this PTR patch. Most of the tweaks are minor adjustments.

  • Genji's Deflect hitbox has been reduced in size.
  • Junkrat's Frag Launcher projectile size has been reduced from 0.3 to 0.2 and his RIP-Tire movement speed has been reduced from 13-12.
  • Lúcio's Wall Ride should be a bit smoother; it can now go around corners and he can re-attach to the same wall provided that he jumps far enough away from it.
  • Tracer's Pulse Bomb has been reduced from 400 to 300 damage.
As far as I can tell, this is the first time that Tracer is being directly nerfed since the launch of Overwatch. The reduction in Pulse Bomb damage is meant to make her less of a tank buster. 300 damage is still plenty to take out non-tank heroes, but tanks ought to be able to walk away from a Tracer Ultimate with some of their health intact.

A number of other bug fixes and minor changes have made their way into the game - be sure to read the full patch notes for all the details. The Overwatch PTR is now live - load it up and check out Rialto and Hanzo's new abilities!

What do you think of the Escort version of Rialto? Do you think the Hanzo changes will be better for the game overall? Was the Tracer nerf really necessary? Let us know in the comments below!
