Overwatch Free Weekend 9-22-17 - 9-25-17

According to a news post on the game's official websiteBlizzard Entertainment's popular first-person shooter Overwatch will be having a free weekend starting on Friday, September 22, 2017 and stretching until Monday, September 25, 2017.

The Overwatch free weekend will be taking place on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. PC players will only need to download the Blizzard Battle.net app in order to participate in the free weekend, but console players will require either Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus to participate on their respective consoles. All of the game's modes, maps, and heroes will be available with the exception of Competitive Play, and gamers that elect to purchase a copy of the game will find that their progress will be saved on their account.

The console version of Overwatch will be available within all regions for the duration of the free weekend. The PC version of the game has some caveats, though - the chance to play for free will only be open to the Americas, Europe, and Asian regions (excluding Korea). No maintenance is scheduled or planned during the event and Blizzard recommends that gamers keep an eye on the game's official Twitter to be informed if that situation changes in any way.

Overwatch's free weekend will begin on September 22, 2017, at 2:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time and end on September 26, 2017, at 2:59 AM Eastern Daylight Time. Blizzard lists several other time zones on the page, and for people who are unsure of the correct start and end times, it's recommended to make use of a time zone converter site such as www.thetimezoneconverter.com. The game's previous free weekend took place in May of 2017, coinciding with the Overwatch Anniversary event.

What do you think of Overwatch having another free weekend? Do you think it will be a fun experience for current players or will the quality of games go down? Let us know in the comments below!
