Overwatch Doomfist Comic

Blizzard has released a new Overwatch comic. Titles Masquerade, it briefly highlights the breakout of Doomfist before showing him engaging in conversations and activities with various members of Talon including Reaper, Widowmaker, and a newly revealed Omnic character by the name of Maximilien.

Masquerade features a good bit of lore dumping, perhaps a bit more than previous comics released thus far. We get to take a peek at the inner workings of Talon through conversations between high-ranking members held in a casino. Following a short chat that was rudely interrupted by some rather unsavory individuals, we are treated to a coordinated counter-attack by Talon. One way or another, it seems like trouble is brewing in the ranks of the organization most directly opposed to Overwatch.

Overwatch Doomfist Comic Possible Costumes
These panels from the Masquerade comic show some potential upcoming skins for Overwatch. I would happily drop 3,000 Credits on an evening dress for Widowmaker.

The previous comic centered around the Uprising event in Overwatch. A series of rumors and leaked images indicated that the uniforms we saw characters wearing in that comic could possibly be a preview of in-game skins; many of these skins came to fruition as event-exclusive items. The Doomfist comic has quite a few interesting costumes in it. Doomfist and Widowmaker are decked out in formal wear - really, who doesn't love a gal that can rock an evening gown and win a fist fight? A couple of pages later, we see Doomfist, Reaper, and Sombra in flamboyant masquerade costumes. Although there is the chance that these items may appear in the upcoming 2017 Summer Games event, they seem to be more likely candidates for this year's Halloween event (whatever it may be).

As for the hero himself, Doomfist will be live in Overwatch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on July 27, 2017. In the meantime, you can still hop onto the PTR to give him a whirl before he Meteor Strikes his way into the game proper.

What did you think of the latest Overwatch comic Masquerade? Do you think the Doomfist comic did a good job of showing off Talon and the new hero? Are there any particular costumes that you would love to see as skins in the game? How do you feel about the lore surrounding the game's latest hero? Let us know in the comments below!
