The hit shooter Overwatch is coming to another platform--the Nintendo Switch.

After rumors of Overwatch’s impending inclusion on the Switch, today's Nintendo Direct finally confirmed that Overwatch will be available on their flagship console on Oct. 15.

Called Overwatch Legendary Edition, the Switch port is reported to be Blizzard's definitive version of its popular team shooter, filled with current updates and content. This will include every hero, mode, and map found on other platform releases. According to J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment, the game will contain " more than three years’ worth of content updates and gameplay enhancements."

Whether bought as a physical copy or a digital download for $39.99, Overwatch Legendary Edition will give players 15 extra hero skins, along with a three-month membership to Nintendo Switch Online. (No word of local multiplayer, so don't expect it at this point.) If Switch owners pre-purchase Overwatch Legendary Edition, their skin collection will grow with the addition of Talon operative Widowmaker's Noire skin. Blizzard's definitive edition will also give players access to a 31-character roster, 28 different areas around the world and even on the moon, and multiplayer modes that can be played casually or competitively.

The new game will be able to take advantage of the Switch's built-in gyroscopic motion controls, allowing players to tilt the console for careful aiming, piloted flight, or swift deflection of projectile fire.

Overwatch players on Switch should also keep their calendars marked even after the October launch date. If Switch players access the game by Dec. 31, they'll be guaranteed at least one Legendary item in a bonus Golden Loot Box. The game will also enjoy ongoing support, such as new gameplay updates, seasonal modes, and other extra content.

For any players with additional interests in books or cooking or both, Overwatch will also see a cookbook based on its characters released this October. Imagine, logging into Overwatch on the Switch for a holiday loot box while eating cookies baked from an Overwatch recipe.
