Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, never in need of another adventure, will be appearing on PC and Consoles next year in a new game called One Piece: World Seeker. This game is being published by Bandai Namco and will be developed by Ganbarion. Ganbarion will be familiar to anyone who plays One Piece titles, as they have been making them since 2001. Some notable recent titles include the One Piece: Unlimited series, Jump Ultimate Stars, and 2016's Dragon Ball Fusions.

Not much more was revealed about World Seeker other than it being an all-new adventure, perhaps alluding to a story not included in either the Manga or Anime. In this game, you will play as Luffy and be able to use all of his different devil fruit powers to explore an open world "filled with castles, cities, beaches, and more exciting and diverse locations." Accompanying the announcement, a variety of images were also included showing off some in-game screenshots of Luffy soaring high above a rural town using the Gomu Gomu no UFO, Gear Second's Jet Bullet in action, and also some of Luffy just exploring the scenery.

From the screenshots we're able to infer a bit more information, such as the game taking place after the time skip, that the island setting has a marine presence, and if Luffy and Zoro being together in the preview image is anything to go by, then this could be an island that the Straw Hat Pirates come across before the Dressrosa arc begins or potentially even after the current Whole Cake Island arc once Luffy and Zoro are reunited. Alternatively, the timeline could just remain in question allowing the game to remain outside the canon.

The single-player World Seeker will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam. Fans might not have to wait for too long either as this weekend Bandai Namco will be showing off more information on a lot of their upcoming titles.

What do you think of an open world One Piece adventure? Are you looking forward to exploring with all of Luffy's abilities? What would you most like to see in this title?
