October is here and this month's PlayStation Plus offering is one of the best this generation with a staggering 9 games to play for the low price of a PS+ subscription.

First up and most notably we're getting the highly reviewed final Metal Gear Solid game from series creator Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In case you've been living under a rock, MGSV is the highly anticipated final (or early middle) chapter to the Metal Gear Solid series featuring series hero (or villain) Big Boss as he takes the role of Venom Snake and rebuilds his private army after the disastrous events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.  Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain features a glimpse into the early days of snakes downfall as well as a cast of characters familiar and new, fun intuitive gameplay, and quite possibly the greatest hit from the 1980's.  Do yourself a favor and check this game out, then go out for some tactical espionage trick or treating action this Halloween.

Up next on the PS4 we have the more seasonally appropriate Amnesia Collection. This collection features both Amnesia The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and will definitely help get you in the mood for Halloween since these games are the definition of spooky jumpscare fun.

For those of you still using the PS3 as your main console you'll be getting, Monster Jam Battlegrounds and Hustle Kings. In Monster Jam Battlegrounds you'll get to drive Gravedigger and other notable monster trucks in physics-based courses similar to the Trials series. Hustle Kings is a pool game.

Finally, for PlayStation Vita owners (as well as PS4 cross-buy) you'll be getting the incredibly stylized and vibrant Hue. Hue is a puzzle platformer in which you need to change the background color to help explore the world and find your missing mother.

Thanks to cross-buy, Vita, PS3, and PS4 owners will also have access to the bullet hell shooter Sky Force Anniversary as well with this month's offerings.

Finally, for those of you with a PSVR, you will have the chance to download the robo combat simulator, RIGS Mechanized Combat League through November 7. If you don't have a PSVR but think you might have one in the future remember to add this to your library.

The party game where you use your smart device as a controller, That's You! is also still available for download until the 24th of October, so if you haven't picked that one up yet be sure to get it before it's gone.

As always with Playstation Plus, these games will be available until the end of the month when a new batch of titles will be available for download.  You also do not have to fill up your hard drive with these games since you can add every title listed here to your library and download at your own convenience. Keep in mind that if you let your subscription lapse you will lose access to every PS+ title you've downloaded/added to your library.

How do you feel about the games offered this month? Is PS+ becoming a better deal now that we're seeing AAA titles in its offerings? Is Maneater the best song on the Metal Gear Solid V soundtrack? Do you still want to see Knack offered for PS Plus? Let is know in the comments below!
