Deckbuilding roguelike game Nowhere Prophet is getting an update. Version 1.02 of the game adds a new game mode, a new convoy, and more. You can check out these changes on the game's Preview channel right now.

First up, it's the new Custom game mode. If you want to unlock this mode, you'll have to play three games. You won't need to complete them; all you need to do is make it to the final screen. If you've already played that many, then just playing one more will unlock the Custom mode. In this mode, you'll be able to select up to four modifiers to activate, allowing you to tweak your own difficulty. Developer Sharkbomb Studios says there are more modifiers coming which will "make [the game] even more fun". We'll get more details on those soon.

Next up in the Nowhere Prophet 1.02 update is an entirely new convoy. The Pioneers are ex-members of the game's Union of the Five Fingers. They've split from that regime in order to find themselves a new home and build a life for themselves. This convoy is "all about armor and obstacles", according to the update notes, and will feature a unique fourth perk. This perk won't need to be unlocked and will influence every combat situation. Again, we're not sure what it is yet, but we'll know more in the coming days.

Lastly, Sharkbomb Studios is adding six new cards to Nowhere Prophet. There will also be a whole lot of balance changes and other tweaks to the game. The dev says it'll make the full changelog available to view tomorrow, so if you're jonesing for more news, you can check out the game's official Steam page. In the meantime, you can read our rather enthusiastic review of Nowhere Prophet right here.
