No Man's Sky, the game that can't quite seem to stay off of our minds for more than a month is currently seeing a major boost in sales on all available platforms thanks to the recently released Atlas Rises update and a sale price of $23.99 on all market places digital and physical.

On Amazon in the United States, No Man's Sky sales are currently ranked at #73 overall in all video games and accessories (why people still buy PSN cards on Amazon will never make sense to me) and trailing just behind the exceptional Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice at #27 in PlayStation 4 specific sales.

Out ranking many well-known items in memorabilia, extension cables, clones and other games, No Man's Sky has again ranked in the top 75 of overall video game related things.

Interestingly enough, No Mans Sky is currently sitting at #2 on the overall Global Top Sellers on Steam and is even reported to have sat at #1 for a short while taking the lead over new titles such as Lawbreakers, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and the ever popular Rocket League. Its peak player count has also gone up, with over 14k players in the last day, up over the previous counts of around 1k. In the past 24hours, it has had an increase of over 850% in players.

While No Mans Sky failed to deliver on its hype by the games launch back in August 2016, developer Hello Games has been releasing a steady amount of free content to help make No Mans Sky closer to what gamers have been expecting of the title since its first initial trailer.  The Atlas Rises update brings many much-wanted additions to the game such as fast travel, a story mode, more intuitive controls, and most importantly, the early stages of multiplayer gameplay.

If you're still on the fence about getting into the game, check out our very own Robert Grosso's piece on the ever-growing community that is No Mans Sky one year after the titles initial release. It's also seeing a 60% sale on every available market such as GOG, Amazon, Steam, and even PSN.

Quick Take

After No Mans Sky got a major update this past week as well as a 60% discount on most retailers, the game has hit the top sales spots in major marketplaces world wide. Let's hope this motivates developer Hello Games to continue adding features to their once highly anticipated game.

What do you think of the changes to No Man's Sky that Hello Games has done? Do you think the surge in No Man's Sky sales has more to do with the major Atlas Rises update or the significant sale discount? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
