Retro fans have a lot to be thankful for with the Nintendo Switch Online service, which provides gamers with easy access to many classic titles from the NES library. The classic library is getting a little bigger now thanks to two new titles which are to be added to the line-up this coming August 21st. The two games in question, Kung-Fu Heroes and Vice: Project Doom are two of the lesser-known titles from the NES's library of around 700 officially-licensed games, so getting another chance to check them out if you missed them the first time around will be a big bonus for any hardcore NES fans out there.
Kung-Fu Heroes
Kung-Fu Heroes tells the story of a land besieged with enemy warriors who have captured the princess Min-Min and left the land in despair. The two heroes, Jacky and Lee, must battle their way through hordes of enemies to recover the 10 sacred treasures and eventually save the princess. The gameplay mainly consists of the player battling their way through different rooms filled with enemies, until enough of them are defeated and the door to the next stage opens. Once you've made your way through all 32 stages you save the princess and restore peace to the nameless kingdom! Huzzah!
Vice: Project Doom
Vice: Project Doom puts you in the rad, 80's shoes of Detective Hart, a cop who must foil the plans of an evil alien race who have used a mega-corporation as a front to oppress and enslave humanity with a powerful drug. The gameplay features plenty of side-scrolling action gameplay, with many similarities to Ninja Gaiden right down to the impressive cutscenes. However, one key difference between the two games is that Vice: Project Doom actually features vehicle combat stages, and light-gun style shooting stages too, which help to break up the gameplay a fair amount.Both of these games will be available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers from the 21st of August 2019 with no additional charges necessary. If that's not enough to tempt you then maybe rumors of the SNES library possibly joining the service soon just might do it.
