Both the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U have had multiple titles released this week on Nintendo's eShop, along with Nintendo's annual holiday sales.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is the newest release on the Wii U's eShop, and it's the latest title in the long-running Shantae series. Released after a three-year development cycle, Half-Genie Hero is the first HD title in the series and the first to be funded through Kickstarter. In order to unlock the Half-Genie from the bottle, the side-scroller will set you back $19.99.

Mario Party 2 is this week's Virtual Console release on the Wii U, which was originally released on the Nintendo 64 in 2000. The title allows up to 4 players via the Wii U GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote's, and Wii Remote + Classic Controller. The second in Nintendo's perennial party game series can be yours for $9.99.

On both the 3DS and the Wii U, the Nintendo eShop now has a sale that celebrates the winter holidays, with Capcom titles up to 75% off and other titles such as Pirate Pop Plus, SteamWorld Heist and Chasing Aurora on sale. For the full list of games that are discounted, go here.

Also included in this week's update is National StreetPass Holiday, where the Mii character of Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and 'countless other' Nintendo characters, will be available in Nintendo Zone locations from December 19 to January 15.

You'll be able to receive up to six Mii characters at a time from across all North America via StreetPass relay.
