Nintendo is giving fans a chance to get their hands on the new 3DS XL at Pax South in San Antonio, Texas, from January 23 to January 25. Fans will be able to play the upcoming 3DS games The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate at the event, both of which make use of the the New 3DS XL's features.

The New 3DS XL provides a number of upgrades over the older models:

"....designed to offer the smoothest and most engrossing portable gaming experience possible. The system features a wider range of controls with the addition of a C Stick and ZL/ZR buttons, beautifully enhanced super-stable 3D via face-tracking technology and built-in NFC functionality that allows for communication with amiibo figures. The system also has faster processing power than the Nintendo 3DS system, which allows some software to start up faster. The increase in CPU power also allows improved download speeds and smoother transitions when switching between software and when using Miiverse. ".  (From the Press Release by Nintendo of America Inc.)

Pax South runs for three days (A time-frame that should hold some significance to fans of Majora's Mask). To celebrate the upcoming launch of Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D on the 13th of February, Nintendo is hosting a "72-Hour Mask Challenge" in which fans will create their own masks (For more information of the 72-hour Mask Challenge, you can keep a keen eye on @NintendoAmerica on Twitter)

If you're going to San Antonio to take part in Pax South, Nintendo will be at booth #1234 (I'm pretty sure they'll be hard to miss) and fans that cosplay as characters from the Legend Of Zelda universe will be able to bypass the lines to get some hands-on time with The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. Some solid fan service by Nintendo here!

The new 3DS XL is launching in the US on the 13th of February. If you want more information you can head over here to the official website.
