Steamworld Dig 2 has been revealed for the Nintendo Switch, coming later this year.

The world debut for the game showed off a new character for the game a steambot girl that will be “digging deep” to uncover secrets from the past.

Steamworld Dig 2 focuses more on platforming action, using weapons such as pickaxes and other abilities in the same vein as Metroid. This may mean branching paths and sprawling tunnels to uncover, and secrets to unlock deep underground. A theme presented is an “old meets new” style, which may indicate ties to the original Steamworld Dig game.

The game has no official release date, but will be released for the Switch this summer.
