Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition has been announced as an upcoming title for the PlayStation 4 & Xbox One, set to release sometime in Spring 2017.
Night Trap is a game from a genre that has long since fallen out of favor - interactive movie games. Originally released for the Sega-CD, it tells the tale of five young girls who are having a sleepover at the Martin household for an evening. A previous group of girls had disappeared, and now it's up to the Special Control Attack Team and the player to save this latest group of young ladies from falling victim to the dastardly denizens of the night in a classic horror movie plot.

Players watch the girls interacting in their environment and must protect them by deploying the titular traps to capture "Augers", vampire-like creatures who are out to prey on the hapless victims. Time is always moving forward, so the player must be ready to activate them at the right time. Moreover, certain traps will only activate if the player has specific color-coded key codes available to them which they can learn by listening to the conversations in the game. Missing too many augers or the loss of certain characters will result in a game over.
The original game itself wouldn't have been notable for anything other than its cheesiness were it not for its role in Congressional hearings concerning violent video games in the 1990s. The game was listed alongside titles such as Mortal Kombat and Doom as particularly concerning examples of violence in the medium. The Congressional hearings were a contributing factor that led to the formation of the Entertainment Software Rating Board by the ESA for fear of looming government censorship.
