Salandit Pokémon Sun and Moon

We can add one more new Pokémon to the list of revealed monsters. Game Freak director Junichi Masuda has revealed the latest monster for Pokémon Sun and Moon, the Toxic Lizard Salandit.

Salandit is a Poison/Fire type, which is a new type combination in the game. Salandit also comes equipped with the Corrosion ability, a new ability that allows it to poison all Pokémon types; typically, Poison and Steel types were immune to poison in the current generations of the game. This will make Salandit a valuable team member as being one of the few creatures able to poison anything on the field.  As seen in the video below, Salandit is seen poisoning a Zubat and a Skarmory with Toxic, two opponents typically immune to the move.

Salandit is described on the official Sun and Moon website as not being a powerful fighter, but a cunning one that is able to throw its opponents off balance. Another interesting trait is how female Salandit's can release pheromones to males of all species - both human and Pokémon - and force them to bend to their will.

Masuda revealed Salandit at the Japan Expo yesterday, continuing a tradition of revealing new Pokémon at the Expo that started with Pokémon X and Y. For X and Y, he revealed the popular Ghost/Steel type Honedge to the public, in an official video created solely for the Japan Expo that was leaked to the public.

Salandit joins the growing list of new monsters in Sun and Moon, including a large reveal last week that showcased seven new monsters added to the game, including the legendary Electric/Fairy type, Tapu Koko and the Pikachu clone of this generation, the Electric/Steel type Togedemaru.

Pokémon Sun and Moon is scheduled for a November 18th release.
