For owners of FNaF World, the role-playing spin-off game in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise by Scott Cawthon, an update is now available on Game Jolt and if you own the game on Steam because you bought it before it was removed, the update will also apply to your copy. To access the content this update provides, players will need to have cleared the game once, on either Normal or Hard mode difficulties. This second update to FNaF World introduces eight new characters, one of which is an avatar of Cawthon himself, as well as a currency generating mini-game and new collectible trophies. Players are already reporting glitches resulting from the update, ranging from not being able to access the updated content to simply having automatic access to characters that would be made available after completing story events - the latter of which was noticed by Cawthon and immediately fixed for subsequent downloads.

The history of FNaF World is a turbulent one. Cawthon, infamous for releasing his games well ahead of scheduled release dates, pulled FNaF World from Steam just a few days after its release on January 21, 2016, stating that he was unhappy with the game, and agreed with criticism that it "felt rushed". Following Cawthon pulling FNaF World from Steam, refunds were offered to players who purchased it, and was re-released as a free game on Game Jolt in February 2016.  There currently are no versions of FnaF World that require you to pay for it and Cawthon has stated there wil not be in the future.

The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise is a horror-based survival genre, centered around the mascot animatronics of a mom-and-pop pizzeria. Gameplay involves surviving the titular five nights, over which the mascots will try their hardest to kill you by stuffing you into a spare mascot costume. TechRaptor has reviewed all of the main series games, as well as FNaF World before it was removed from Steam by Cawthon. A novel tie-in, titled Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes, was released on December 17, 2015, and a film is currently in production with Warner Bros. Picture.

According to comments from people who have played through the second update, there is information that points to a third update, although at this time Cawthon has made no public comments on any future updates for FNaF World.  If there are further updates to be made for FNaF World, they may have to wait until Cawthon's next game in the Five Nights at Freddy's saga, Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, is released.
