Oh the places you'll go when you play the games created by this brand new Dr. Seuss game development studio.

Dr. Seuss, the world-famous children's book author may be long gone, but his legacy still lives on. Dr. Seuss Studios is a brand-new game developer as a part of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, and in recognition of the late author's 115th birthday, a new mobile game based on his book "Happy Birthday to You!" is releasing soon.

Next month players can take control of B.B. the Birthday Bird in the mobile title B.B. Takes Flight. This title is an endless runner - or rather, flyer - where the player taps the screen to fly through "a Seussian world of wonder" according to a press release.

Players will aim to gain the highest score and collect trophies as they tap and fly their way to victory. B.B. Takes Flight also features a free-fly mode and three different difficulty options. The game will also be free to play with a purchasable ad-free version.

Because Dr. Seuss Enterprises is a completely new studio, we can also expect to see other Dr. Seuss titles in the future. It has been a long time since we've seen any sort of Dr. Seuss title. The last appears to be Dr. Seuss: How the Grinch Stole Christmas! in 2007 for the Nintendo DS, so it's been over a decade.

For those hardcore Dr. Seuss fans out there, you can play B.B. Takes Flight very soon in March.

Quick Thoughts

I have to say, I didn't expect this. I loved Dr. Seuss as a child and although I am not the demographic for this first title and likely the rest of the games they plan to make, it's cool to see the Seuss legacy live on. It sounds like it could be more like Flappy Bird clone, but I'm hoping it takes more the form of an endless runner.
