It's been a good few months to be a Destiny player. The Taken King brought with it a slew of improvements to the game, and players can now race their sparrows against other Guardians in the Sparrow Racing League event.

To coincide with the release of the December update that douses the flames of the Solar Titan somewhat, community manager DeeJ has posted his weekly update.

In the update, DeeJ sheds some light on Bungie's future content plans for this expansion. It seems like Bungie is moving more towards event-based content, as opposed to full expansion packs. The first planned event in 2016 will be similar in scale to Halloween's "Festival of the Lost" event, with a bigger event planned for Spring of next year. The update states that they will also be bringing out new content faster than they did during this year.

While some events will remain a secret for the time being, DeeJ says that announcements for already planned content updates will be coming in the not too distant future.

The Sparrow Racing League event is available for everyone who owns The Taken King, and will run for a total of 3 weeks, ending on the 29th of this month. Bungie is currently looking into fixing a bug in the event's record bookDestiny: The Taken King owners on PS4 have access to an exclusive quest that can get them an exclusive sparrow during the event.

Quick Take

Man, I really need to jump into Destiny to play some sparrow races. The end of the year stuff has left me very little time to devote to anything but the odd Heroes of the Storm session, but from what I've seen it looks like some great, albeit shallow, fun. Bungie's continued effort to tweak the game's balance and their willingness to listen to their fanbase is doing wonders for a game that once looked like an empty experience wrapped in an, admittedly, pretty shell. If only they weren't so cryptic about pretty much any given subject.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
