One of the more shocking announcements of this year's E3 was the fact that the Xbox One would be getting backwards compatibility with some of the games from the Xbox 360 library. There have been over 100 titles released already with this capability, and now Microsoft has announced 16 more titles, available today.

Here's the full list of  titles released today:

  • Braid
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Doritos Crash Course
  • Fable III
  • Halo: Reach
  • Hydro Thunder
  • Iron Brigade
  • Kane & Lynch 2
  • Motocross Madness
  • Ms. Pac-Man
  • Peggle
  • Portal: Still Alive
  • Spelunky
  • Splosion Man
  • Ticket to Ride
  • Zuma's Revenge

The standout of the list is most likely Halo: Reach to many, but plenty of indie game fans should be happy as well, with the likes of Braid and Spelunky.

One thing worth remembering is that all the 360 games from here on out, starting last month, included in Games with Gold will also be getting backwards compatibility with the Xbox One, so there will always be a couple titles each month newly available.

This is just another in a library that Microsoft promises will continue to grow as the contact third party developers over time, so we should all come to expect the occasional batch of new games available for backwards compatibility.

For those unfamiliar, the backwards compatibility allows you to play the available games on your Xbox One if you previously owned a copy of the game for the 360, physically or digitally. If you own the physical version of the game, all you need to do is put your disc in the Xbox One and it will recognize it as a 360 disc, taking care of the rest for you (the game will have to be downloaded as it will not play from the disc itself). For games you own digitally, just go to "My games and apps" and then install the newly backwards compatible game.

If there are still some games you'd like to see come to backwards compatibility, you have the opportunity to both vote and suggest games here.

What games do you still want to see become backwards compatible? What do you think of this batch?
