Need For Speed Payback

Back in early May, we got our first hints of a new Need for Speed title that would arrive by the end of 2017. This morning the full reveal of the 2017 Need for Speed took place via the official Need for Speed YouTube account. Under the new title Need for Speed Payback a lot was revealed about the upcoming game.

Taking place in a location called Fortune Valley, an in-universe version of Las Vegas, you will be playing through an action-rich story as three different characters facing off against "The House". This mysterious foe runs all of the Casinos, hires all the criminals, and owns all the cops in Fortune Valley. Depending on what type of race you feel like getting into the characters that you can choose between are as follows; Tyler the Racer, Mac the Showman, and Jess the Wheelman. As you progress further through the game you will be able to raise your ranks in the racing scene while unlocking all kinds of car customization so you can have a ride that better fits your style.

The trailer gives off the sense that Tyler, Mac, and Jess used to be in a crew with another member who betrayed them, and as the title of the game suggests this is a story about their journey to get payback. Also shown in the trailer are a variety of different landscapes ranging from the busy city all the way to the desert brush, cop chases, and even Fast and the Furious style highway heists.

Need for Speed Payback will release on the 10th of November 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Though it has not yet been officially announced, it is expected that those with EA Access on PC or Xbox One will be able to play the game a week early. A Deluxe Edition of the game will also be releasing that gives you a variety of in-game bonuses such as getting to play the game three days early, in game reputation bonuses and multipliers, customization options, and the upcoming Story Mission pack.

What do you think of the new Need for Speed game? Are you looking forward to getting back behind the wheel? What would you most like to see in this new title?
