Mortal Kombat X will not be launching on Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced that the last-generation versions of the ultra-violent fighting game have been cancelled. The publisher announced the cancellation of the xbox 360 and Playstation 3 version in a statement on their website:

After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.  Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current gen versions of the game.  We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.

If you pre-ordered Mortal Kombat X for PS3 or Xbox 360, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the game and you will receive a full refund.

Mortal Kombat X had originally been planned to launch on Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in April 14, 2015. However, the 7th generation versions of the game were delayed until an uncertain time in the summer. The PC version launched with a myriad of problems. Notably that the game would fail to load properly. The developer of the PC version was also responsible for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions. The game had received criticism for including micro-transactions.

How do you feel about this? Were you hoping to buy the game for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360? If you bought the game on PC, did you experience any issues with the game? If you bought the game on Playstation 4 or Xbox One, how do you like the game? Did it stack up to Mortal Kombat 9, or did it leave you wanting more? Let us know in the comment below!
