A Mortal Kombat 11 update is coming. The patch, which will have different contents kontents for each platform, is scheduled to hit in the next few days. This seems to be in response to fan complaints that the game feels too difficult or requires too much grinding.

Chief among the updates is an easing of difficulty in the game's Towers of Time mode. All platforms will see a reduction in AI difficulty in this gameplay mode. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Mortal Kombat 11 will receive a single patch, while the PC and Nintendo Switch versions will get two patches. The latter patches will also contain some balance updates that the PS4 and Xbox One versions don't seem to need. If you want to read the full patch notes, you can do so here. Essentially, Netherrealm is looking to knock down Towers of Time difficulty to make the game feel a bit less grindy.

In addition, Netherrealm will be giving a free in-game Kurrency gift to all players. Once the patch lands, each Mortal Kombat 11 player will receive 500,000 in-game Koins, 500 Hearts, 1,000 Soul Fragments, and 1,000 Time Krystals. Netherrealm is likely hoping this will compensate kompensate for players' complaints. These gifts will be redeemable early next week.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest entry in the long-running controversial kontroversial fighting franchise. Since its launch on April 23rd, the game has come in for criticism around its microtransactions. Some players feel that unlocking the game's many extras is far too arduous on its own and that Netherrealm is trying to motivate players to spend real money in this way. This latest patch announcement might go some way towards assuaging those players' fears. Even so, with some estimates coming in at over $6,000 to unlock every skin with real money, some damage has almost certainly been done to the developer's short-term reputation.
