Activision has made more reveals surrounding the much-anticipated release of the upcoming Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. In a blog post about the game posted earlier this week, the company talked about the game's brand new customization features which could be used to create a custom cart. In a second part of the blog post released today, Activision talked about not only the characters who would be featured in the game but also about the brand new skin system and how you can unlock these skins in-game.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled starts you out with the 8 classic characters who were originally part of CTR. As the game progresses you can also unlock all of the characters from Crash Nitro-Kart as you progress further through adventure mode. Along with the unlockable characters the game will feature a skin system, allowing you to change the appearance of your driver in various ways. Crash himself, for instance, has access to an old-timey look complete with racing goggles, a skunk-fur skin with black and white stripes and even an above-water scuba diving get up.

The character and skin systems will be accompanied by an in-game currency, Wumpa Points, which can be earned by going through adventure mode and completing various challenges. Wumpa Points can then be redeemed by going to the pit stop and can be used to gain access to a whole bunch of skins and characters. As well as that it has been revealed that those planning on gettings the PlayStation 4 version will also be given access to classic skins for Crash, Coco and Cortex, making them look exactly like their PS1 counterparts.
