A brand new crossover event for the upcoming Monster Hunter: World expansion Iceborne was accidentally released by Capcom this morning, showing off a new trailer from Capcom that has subsequently been taken down.

Though the trailer was posted too early, the information on it confirms that Iceborne will have a crossover event with the game Horizon Zero Dawn. Users at Reset Era were able to capture some gifs and screenshots of the trailer before it was pulled, showing off the titular character of Horizon, Aloy, prominently using a bowgun before cutting to the crossover title.

This is the second time Horizon Zero Dawn has had a cross-promotional event in Monster Hunter: World. The first crossover event was back in February of 2018, when the game first launched, giving players a chance to craft some of Aloy's iconic gear and weapons, including a special War Bow. Monster Hunter: World has also had other crossover events, such as a collaboration with CD Projekt Red to bring Geralt from The Witcher to the game, again to collect iconic weapons and armor.

The connection this time around stems from the icy-winter theme of Iceborne. Horizon Zero Dawn's main DLC, Frozen Wilds, is in the same vein as what Iceborne plans to be. It also helps that both games have similar themes and that Capcom has a working relationship with Sony already to borrow the character once more.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is a massive expansion to Monster Hunter: World, and is set to release for the PS4 and Xbox One on September 6th, with a PC release early next year.

This crossover event will, of course, be exclusive to the PS4 version of the game as well, giving PlayStation players an extra incentive to check out the expansion when it releases next month. While it doesn't showcase Aloy, at Gamescom a new trailer for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne released showing a new enemy you can watch below.
