Gigantic

The wonderfully cartoonish MOBA with a third-person shooter twist Gigantic has been delayed until some point in 2016. Developer Motiga cites feedback gathered from multiplayer testing as the reason for the delay.

In a blog post on the official site, Motiga CEO Chris Yung states that the company needs time to reflect on the date obtained during the closed beta, and are ''committed to accomplish the expectations they have set for themselves''.

Since this delay comes ahead of the game's release and because this is a relatively new company with very little revenue coming in, they are forced to lay off 16 of their employees to stretch their finite resources.

Gigantic was originally planned to be released as a free to play game on the PC, with an Xbox One version being in development since this year. The final version is supposed to support cross-platform play.

Gigantic is a game that aims to mix third-person shooter combat with action RPG mechanics wrapped in a MOBA package. Players get to choose from a wide variety of different characters while they battle it out in 5v5 matches alongside AI creeps while they attempt to destroy the opposing team's behemoth, all the while trying to prevent the enemy from doing the same to yours. Quick Take

Little snags in the tooth are commonplace during development, but it's never easy for a company to let some of their staff go as a result of these snags. It's good to see that the developer has a commitment to making Gigantic a great game. It does make me happy that with something that shows as much potential as this, the developer is taking player feedback to heart. I wish them all the best in the coming months, and look forward to seeing more of this game.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
