Skyforge

With the slew of upcoming MMORPG’s on the horizon, there are many titles that aren’t getting the love and recognition they deserve. Today I bring one of those MMORPG’s to the forefront, and this game goes by the name of Skyforge.

Skyforge is an action-combat MMORPG set in a world where Sci-Fi and Fantasy converge on one another. The theme of the game is very interesting where futuristic human technology, mythological creatures, deities, and titans all collide. The progression and classing systems both provide a unique experience as there are no levels, and classes can be switched on the fly. This makes it sound as if it’s bit anti-RPG, but as they claim themselves, talents and abilities are unlocked through the game play. In regards to classes, only three will be available from the start, the Lightbender, Paladin, and Cryomancer. Other classes in the game must be earned or achieved, and are considered intermediate and advanced classes. An example of an intermediate class would be the Berserker, where an advanced class would be the Gunner.

It’s currently slated to be a free-to-play game, which only makes it even more appealing. Also, don’t let free to play fool you, the visuals and textures are stunning, and the spell and particle details are excellent. Currently the character animations do seem a bit choppy, but don’t worry as there is still a lot of development in the works for this game which currently doesn’t have a projected release date. Closed BETA could hit the US as early as Q4 of this year. The game is being developed jointly by Allods Team, a successful Russian MMORPG development group, and Obsidian Entertainment, who are known for releasing solid RPG’s.

Just watch the following gameplay demo, and you may find it very difficult to overlook or pass up yourself:
