Sad Pokemon

This week Milwaukee County has sent a letter to Niantic Inc requesting the developer to organize a permit for spawning Pokemon in public places.

The letter was sent out by John Dargle, current park director for Milwaukee County. Within this letter, Dargle writes that while the Pokemon phenomenon has certainly led to a significant increase in park attendance, unfortunately, there have been some negative consequences as well. These consequences include things such as traffic congestion, parking issues, littering, damages/risk of damages to local flora and fauna, and noncompliance to park operational hours. Dargle writes that these issues have affected both Lake Park, and the adjacent neighborhoods nearby.

Everybody likes fun recreation. The parks are there to be used by the public, but when it starts interfering with other people's ability to enjoy their own park, when there's more trash, you know, we have to get serious about it," - Milwaukee County Park Director Chris Abele, WISN 12 News.

Until Niantic Inc has obtained approval, Milwaukee County has requested the company to deactivate all Pokemon GO related activities from their parks. These includes PokeStops, Gyms, and presumably any other Pokemon from spawning in the area.

Pokemon GO is currently available on iOS and Android smartphone devices. For more info, be sure to take a gander at our full review for Pokemon GO, and our beginners guide.

Quick Take

From The Pentagon banning the title due to possible security breaches to shootings at unsuspected players, you'd think we would be done with all these bizarre Pokemon GO stories by now. Fortunately, with every passing day, there always seems to be something weird going on with this silly app.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Niantic Inc should abide with Milwaukee County? Or do you think that Milwaukee County should stay out of the way? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
