Following the official reveal of Middle-earth: Shadow of War 2 days ago, developer Monolith Productions have released the minimum and recommended system specs for the PC version of the game on the game’s Steam Store page.

Let’s take a look at the minimum system requirements you’ll need to run Middle-earth: Shadow of War!

OS: Windows 7 SP1 with Platform Update for Windows 7 Processor: Intel i5-2550K 3.4 GHz Memory: 8GB RAM Graphics: GeForce GTX 670, Radeon HD 7950 DirectX: Version 11 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 60GB available space

The video card you need to run this game is a few years old at this point and it needing an i5 processor to run will probably make this a game most semi-serious PC gamers will be able to run without much of a problem. It’s not a particularly small game either since the game needs 60GB of hard drive space, but that is to be expected from modern open world games.

Here are the recommended specs:

OS: Windows 10 version 14393.102 or higher required Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz Memory: 16GB RAM Graphics: GeForce GTX 970, GeForce GTX 1060, Radeon R9 290X, or Radeon RX 480 DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 60GB available space

To run this game with most of the (as of yet unannounced) bells and whistles turned on you’ll need a hefty processor and a wad of memory. Notably, despite the recommendation of Windows 10, DirectX 12 does not appear to be the recommended version, hinting that Middle-earth Shadow of War is unlikely to take advantage of that version at launch. The graphical requirements include AMD’s budget RX 480 and NVIDIA’s midrange 970 which isn’t too expensive an upgrade if you need to get one!

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is scheduled to release on August 22 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A gameplay reveal will be coming on March 8, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

What do you think of the system requirements? What are you expecting from the gameplay reveal on March 8? Let us know in the comments!

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
