Life Is Strange 2 Face

Square Enix showed up with the next Life is Strange game, which is the prequel to the original. Life is Strange: Before the Storm featured Chloe before the events of the first game, and showed her interacting with various characters. Some scenes included showed the car accident that would kill Chloe's father and Chloe trying to handle the major change in her life. Another scene showed Rachel, the missing girl that would kick off the events of the first game.

In a blog post about the game it's revealed that development will be taken over by Deck Nine Games while Dontnod works on the actual sequel. Ashley Burche will not be reprising her role as Chloe, but will come back to help write the game. Instead Chloe will be taken over by Rhianna DeVries, a relative unknown. Chloe doesn't have a time rewind power like Max does, so you will have to be careful about what you say. You can't just rewind time and choose a better option.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm will take place three years before the events of the original game. It will only span 3 episodes rather than 5 like most episodic games do. However, the developers have said they will also have a bonus episode that takes place after Life is Strange. This bonus one-off episode, titled "Farewell", will catch up with Max after the events of the original game and will serve as an epilogue episode. This episode will only be available as part of the deluxe edition of the game.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm will be launching August 31st. It will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
