According to a recent announcement that will pique many Harry Potter fans’ interest in the upcoming mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, several actors from the iconic Harry Potter film series will be reprising their characters in the game.

Though the books are long finished and the film adaptations came to a close in 2011, Harry Potter remains an ever-present cultural icon. The Fantastic Beasts movies are continuing the Harry Potter legacy in the movie medium, while in the video game medium the upcoming Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery does the same.

Set before Harry arrived at Hogwarts to ruin the educational experience of others, this game will allow for the fulfillment of the wish many generations of readers and watchers held - to receive the letter inviting them into this world of magic.

The story will be given extra life and authenticity by the inclusion of the actors from the films. The voiceover work fans will likely be most excited for include Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore), Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall) and Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick).

Also included are Sally Mortemore (Madam Irma Pince), Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey) and Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch).

"Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts. By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.” - Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of developer, Jam City.
Alongside such prestige thespians reprising their roles, the actor who takes up the role of Severus Snape will have a daunting task before him, the iconic performance of the late Alan Rickman an incredible act to follow.

The teaser trailer released back in January laid out some of the game’s key features. RPG elements include a personalized character which will evolve through magical spells learned in classes and interactions with other students that can take the form of rivalries or friendships. Quests involve player decisions, meaning a unique Harry Potter story will unfold for each player.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be released in less than three weeks, coming to iOS and Android on April 25th.
