Along with each game, the Megaman Z/X Legacy Collection also boasts a number of features not found in the games' original Gameboy Advanced release. Among these additions and improvements are the ability to the play the game in full screen, an HD filter to smooth out the game's already impressive 2D sprites, as well as a Casual Scenario Mode for lowering the difficulty if you wish to, and the Save-Assist system that allow the player to save in the middle of a stage. Also, brand new to the collection is Z Chaser Mode, a challenge in which the player must race against their rival to the end of a stage.

The collection also includes an array of extras from the games, that includes a gallery with over 600 different pieces of production art from the games' development, and a music player to listen to the various tracks from each game.

Originally released between 2004 and 2007 with the first four games appearing on the Gameboy Advanced and the latter two on the Nintendo DS. In this series of games Zero, the secondary protagonist from the Megaman X series, awakens hundreds of years in the future to confront a new evil that has arisen while he was asleep.
