Something I’ve realized once I got older is that time seems to speed up, with the years somehow passing me by at an alarming rate. Now that I know that Mass Effect: Andromeda is supposed to come out at the start of next year, time has all but stopped dead in its tracks. And while I, and many others, are looking forward to this year’s E3 to finally get some more info on the next chapter in the Mass Effect franchise, there’s still too much time between me and that hopefully wonderful moment I can get my hands on the new game. Luckily, a neoGAF user shared some screenshots of a survey being sent out by EA that gives us a little peek into what we can expect when the game releases.
The screenshots can be found here and show a bunch of questions that should give EA’s marketing department an idea of how to present the game to the world. The most interesting bit is the small synopsis, which reads as follows:
Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory – where WE are the aliens – opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us.
Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery.
Players will once again amass a small following of characters and take them on adventures around the galaxy as you try to find and build a new home for humanity in an unfamiliar galaxy far away from Earth. The survey also hints at a possible future for the Mass Effect franchise, with a growing conflict that will become the focus of this new trilogy as it progresses. Seems like the series might start off small, but build towards a larger narrative just like the first 3 games in the franchise.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release in the first quarter of 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
