BioWare has continued to update Mass Effect: Andromeda with requested fixed from their fanbase.

The latest patch, 1.08, will be addressing several complaints regarding the game's character creation, romance options, and single and multiplayer tweaks.

The game's character creation was heavily criticized by fans as being shallow and incomplete, so BioWare is attempting to rectify the situation by adding more options for players. Of note, a new face pre-set has been added for both male and female Ryders, all hair options have been unlocked for both genders and a new complexion option with a greater range of general skin tones are also made available.

For players hoping to change their appearance mid-game, they will get the chance to onboard the Tempest, similar to previous BioWare content The Black Emporium, which also provided the option to change the player's appearance on a whim.

The second major change would regard male/male romances, which were heavily criticized by fans as lacking in the original release of Andromeda. BioWare decided to make the character of Jaal, the Angaran squadmate, a romance option for male Ryders.

"Scott Ryder did not have a same-sex squadmate available as a romance option, nor could the achievement for completing three romances be achieved with only male same-sex partners," stated BioWare's Conal Pierse. "And as the angara have expressed their fluidity in how they perceive gender, it seemed only natural that Scott could have a relationship with Jaal."

Previously, a data-mine on the unofficial BioWare forums noted that Jaal was intended to be a same-sex romance for male Ryder's, but the content was incomplete in the games files. It is unknown if the intended romance with Jaal was cut due to time constraints.

Other changes and issues fixed in the patch include several single player bug fixes to quests, the addition of high-level weapon mods for vendors, and added support for Dolby Vision technology for PC players. Several multiplayer tweaks were also noted, including balance changes and bug fixes. All details are in the patch notes linked above.

This is the third major patch to be released by BioWare, attempting to address the concerns regarding the games rocky release back in March, which included other major issues such as the game's animations and out of control bugs.
