Bioware has officially canceled the multiplayer tech test for the wave-based co-op feature coming in Mass Effect: Andromeda. This news comes from a blog post on Bioware's website about their appearance at this year's PAX East in Boston, Massachusets.

Featuring different character kits each day, this is your chance to try out Mass Effect’s fast-paced cooperative multiplayer on PC.You can still sign up for the tech test on the Bioware Beacon website, but as you've probably guessed by now there won't be any tech test to participate in. The good folks over at PC Gamer reached out to Bioware enquiring about the canceled multiplayer tech test. They got this response:While we will have live multiplayer at PAX East, there will no longer be a multiplayer tech test for players at home. Thank you to everyone who signed up. We look forward to seeing you in Andromeda.
Our team worked extremely hard building, testing, and balancing multiplayer, and we ultimately determined that a tech test would not be necessary.There are two ways you can look at this: either the above statement is a testament to Bioware's trust in their product, or there's something going horribly wrong with the multiplayer that forced Bioware to cancel the tech test and use the remaining weeks to make the feature ready for launch while still allowing players at PAX to try the multiplayer in a controlled environment. While we don't really have a reason to doubt their word, we will know for sure once Mass Effect: Andromeda releases at the end of this month.
