Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 are suddenly no longer available for purchase on the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, or Steam a user on reddit noticed earlier today.
The Marvel universe is an absolutely massive space that has dozens of big-name superheroes and villains and hundreds of smaller ones. The Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games allowed players to tea up as many of these characters and fight against bad guys, level up their characters, and unlock cool cosmetic costumes. Gamerant pointed out a few days ago that the games were likely in danger of being removed from stores with speculation that Activision’s license to sell them would be expiring. Whatever the actual reason may be, it seems that this fear has come to pass and players currently cannot purchase the games on digital storefronts. Take a look at the links for yourself to see:
- Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Steam)
- Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Steam)
This isn’t the first time Marvel games have disappeared from online stores. Deadpool is a repeat offender for this sort of behavior, having already been removed from sale on Steam twice and is currently still unavailable for purchase on PC’s largest digital games distributor.
At the time of writing, both games can still be purchased in a bundle at the Humble Store, but there’s no way to know how much longer that will last. Considering what happened with the Deadpool game, this could very well be your last chance to get your hands on the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games for quite a while. We’ve reached out to Activision for comment and will update this article when we hear back from them or learn something new.
Disclosure: Humble Bundle works with TechRaptor for affiliate partnership, and TechRaptor earns a small commission off purchases made from links in this article.
