Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be released for Nintendo Switch on July 19th. It was originally announced during The Game Awards 2018. This'll be the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance game in ten years.

Just like previous games in the series, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a top-down action RPG. Players will control a team of iconic Marvel characters as they try to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos and his Black Order. Returning heroes include Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America. New additions include Spider-Gwen, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The game will support up to four players via either local or online multiplayer. The two-player mode will work with individual Joy-Con controllers, so you can simply pass one to a friend and they can play. Players can drop in and drop out at any time. As in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, players can combine their special abilities to unleash devastating super moves on enemies. Nintendo of America VP Nick Chavez says the series has "never been more fun or immersive". Other than new heroes and locations, it's very much business as usual: Diablo-style hack-and-slash action RPG gameplay complete with a leveling system, stat upgrades, and equipment management. Fans of the last couple of Marvel Ultimate Alliance games should feel right at home here.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will hit brick-and-mortar stores and digital storefronts simultaneously on July 19th. It'll go for an RRP of $59.99. The latest Marvel cinematic outing Avengers: Endgame lands in cinemas April 26th in the USA. Should be plenty of time between then and July 19th to build up some healthy frustration to take out on everyone's favorite purple-chinned psychopath, right?
