The Dark Pictures Anthology Man of Medan Releasing On August 30

Supermassive Games, developers behind Until Dawn and The Inpatient, have announced today that their upcoming horror game Man of Medan will include multiplayer modes. Man of Medan will be the first of Supermassive Games "The Dark Pictures" series of games. Each of these titles will have similar gameplay to Until Dawn and while they each will tell stand-alone stories, every character you control will have the chance to live or die based on your decisions. For those who think they spot a familiar face or two in the trailer actors, Shawn Ashmore (Iceman from X-men) and Pip Torrens (Colonel Kaplan from Star Wars: The Force Awakens) are lending their talent to this game.

The first of the two game modes is the Shared Story Mode, this will allow you to play with another friend over online Co-op. Each player will be a different character and will work together in different areas of the game. This will allow you to experience the game in a completely new way with completely new scares.

The second game mode is the Movie Night Mode. This local game mode will allow you and four of your friends to share one controller, each picking one of the five characters to control. You can make your own character's decisions and choose to save yourself or save others. This mode will allow players to really connect to their character thinking about themselves if they want to stay in the game. This isn't the first time that Supermassive Games has toyed with multiplayer ideas as their earlier title Hidden Agenda used the PlayLink system for PlayStation 4 to allow multiple players to make decisions.

Man of Medan will be available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on August 30th. Those who pre-order Man of Medan will also get early access to the Creator's Cut. The Creator's Cut will include scenes and decisions that can be made from other playable characters perspectives.

What do you think of Man of Medan announcing multiplayer support? Are you excited to get your friends together and play through a horror movie?
