During last year's Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask will come to our 3DS system sometime in the 2015. Nintendo hopes that Majora's Mask 3D will double the huge success that Ocarina of Time had with its 3D enhanced version of the Nintendo 64 classic. In the same occasion, it was revealed a special collector edition of the game, with many goodies and collectibles, that would be available in Europe with no hint of a possible special edition for North America. Until today.

Nintendo of  America revealed today, via press release, that North America will have its own special edition of the game. It will cost 49.99$ (the regular edition is 39.99$) and will include a Skull Kid figurine. Needless to say, game collectors around the web largely showed their appreciation for this reveal and many can't wait to grab the Skull Kid figurine for just 10$ more than the regular price.

Majora's Mask 3D has been in development since Ocarina of Time 3D's launch in 2011. Nintendo auspicate to make a whole new generation of gamers enjoy the unique atmospheres of Majora's Mask. By their own words:

There is a reason The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is loved by fans all over the world. It is one of the most unique and suspenseful entries in The Legend of Zelda series, one that critics and fans have called a true masterpiece. The game finds players solving puzzles, battling enemies and controlling time itself to help Link save the mysterious world of Termina and its terrified inhabitants from being crushed by the moon.
Both the Special Editions of the game will come out the same day of the regular edition. For now we have no specific date aside from "Spring 2015". Special editions are not available for pre-purchase at the time of writing so you'll have to be patient before you can put your hands on the Skull Kid figurine (if you're North American) or the steelbook case + poster + pin badge combo (if you're European).

What you think about this special edition of Majora's Mask 3D? Will you pay the extra 10$ for the Skull Kid figurine? Let us know in the comments.

UPDATE: Gamestop started taking preorders for this special edition. You can find it here
