Overwatch has continued to bleed into Heroes of the Storm with the upcoming release of battle-DJ Lucio into Blizzard's MOBA.

In Overwatch, Lucio is an area of effect-based support, using his Sonic Amplifier to boost his team's movement speed and healing rate. The support of choice for people who dislike the direct healing role of Mercy, Zenyatta, or Ana, Lucio allows players to take a more active role in the battle while still being a benefit to their team. Thanks to the trailer, it can be safely assumed that the majority of Lucio's AoE specialization will make it over to Heroes of the Storm, with abilities that heal in an area around him, while still allowing him to partake in the fight. Interestingly, Lucio's ability seems to be left in a static area - likely to curb the potential power of the hero. We haven't seen a support hero based purely around the idea of area of effect healing in Heroes of the Storm, so Lucio will likely be a welcome addition to the roster for many Heroes players. Additionally, we also see Lucio perform his Overwatch ultimate's signature jump at the end of the video, so it's likely that his armor-buffing ultimate ability has also made it into the game.

Some of Lucio's smaller details also seem to have made it into Heroes of the Storm unscathed. The trailer clearly shows that his wall-running ability is present, although it remains to be seen whether this is a small cosmetic detail, or will actually have some form of effect on Lucio's gameplay. Also, much like his fellow Overwatch alumni Tracer, Lucio seems to have some ability to attack while moving - an ability we've seen restricted only to Overwatch characters in Heroes of the Storm.

Lucio will be available to play on the Heroes of the Storm Public Test Realm from the 6th of February.

How do you feel about the addition of Lucio to the Heroes lineup? And with Lucio representing Overwatch as a Support in Heroes of the Storm, and Tracer and Zarya filling the Assassin and Warrior roles, will we see a Specialist hero from Overwatch soon? Let us know in the comments down below.
