Your next free Epic Games Store title has been revealed. Lovecraftian horror adventure Conarium will be free to download on the Epic Store starting from September 12th.
Conarium is loosely based on Lovecraft's novella At The Mountains Of Madness. You play as Frank Gilman, one of four scientists on an expedition to the Antarctic. Gilman wakes up alone at an Antarctic research base with no knowledge of what happened prior to his passing out. It's up to you to uncover what happened to Gilman and his coworkers and unravel the mystery of the research station. You can check out the trailer for Conarium below:

Your goal in Conarium is to conduct your research while staying away from the abominations that prowl the station's corridors. The game's official Steam page invites you to "study clues and unlock secrets, whilst avoiding macabre beings at all cost". This being an immersive horror game, there are plenty of notes and logs to find that will expand the narrative. If you're a fan of first-person horror puzzling, you should definitely check out Conarium, especially given that it'll be free. Developer Zoetrope Interactive recommends you play this one with the lights out and with your headphones on. I don't know if I'm brave enough.
As ever, all you'll need to download and play Conarium is an Epic Games Store account. Once you've filled in the necessary details, simply head over to the game's store page and hit the giant "FREE" button. It'll be added to your library. All you need to do then is install it and you're good to go. Be sure not to miss out on the current free titles either; The End is Nigh and ABZU.
