Check out Spotify for a large influx of newly available music as a bunch of Capcom music, specifically soundtracks, has been added. They can all be incorporated into your Spotify library by adding the artist, "Capcom Sound Team."

The large size of the Capcom music collection now on Spotify can't be stressed enough, as the Capcom Sound Team has been creating music for the industry for over 30 years now. There are over 50 albums of music from various games created by the famed Japanese developer and publisher, and each of them has a considerably long tracklist.

The selection of Capcom music is equally comprehensive. You can now hear official music from Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, Okami, and Breath of Fire. The album titles on Spotify are largely listed in their native Japanese but are also identifiable by their cover illustrations.

Capcom isn't new to Spotify though. According to Nintendo Wire, Capcom previously had music from Resident Evil and their other franchises up on the audio streaming platform until last summer. Nintendo Wire had learned from Jawmuncher on the ResetEra forums that much of the official Capcom music—including Resident Evil—had been removed from Spotify, though this primarily affected American users and any playlists that might have contained Capcom tracks.

It was another social media user that pointed out Capcom’s return to Spotify. Siliconera reported that Walt on Twitter posted a GIF showing a long list of available Capcom music on the streaming platform.

But PC Gamer notes that in the U.S. they couldn't play Resident Evil or Monster Hunter World on Spotify, observing that some Capcom music appears to be region-locked. Maybe this will change in the future, with even more of the developer’s music added to the streaming platform.

Even before this resurgence of Capcom music, Spotify has been a good place for listening to music found in gaming. The streaming platform has a wide array of official game soundtracks from AAA titles like The Last of Us (Gustavo Santaolalla), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Jeremy Soule), God of War (Bear McCreary), and indies like Shovel Knight (Jake Kaufman), Gris (Berlinist), and Celeste (Lena Raine).

Fans and people interested in music from different forms of media can listen to these video game music albums and more on Spotify. And given Capcom’s history and influence in gaming, along with the new vastness of their music collection on the streaming platform, their lineup would be a good place to start.

Are you going to listen to Capcom music on Spotify? Do you have a favorite Capcom soundtrack? Where do you rank the Capcom Sound Team as far as video game music teams? Are you going to listen to other video game music albums on Spotify? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
