Vice President of PlayStation Brand Marketing John Koller announced the Limited Deluxe Edition Final Fantasy XV Bundle on the PlayStation Blog, and it includes a new PlayStation 4 slim, a copy of Final Fantasy XV, Kingsglave: Final Fantasy XV Movie Blu-ray and more.
The Bundle launches exclusively at Gamestop in North America and EB Games in Canada on Nov. 29 for $449 USD and $549 CAD. It includes the new Final Fantasy XV Lunar Edition 1TB HDD PlayStation 4 slim, a controller with a XV decal, a copy of Final Fantasy XV in a steel book covering, a copy of Kingsglave: Final Fantasy XV on Blu-ray and DLC in the form of the Royal Raiment Outfit, the Masamune Weapon, and the Leviathan Regalia Skin.
The announcement comes off the heels of Sony’s reveal of the Lunar Edition Bundle coming to Japan during their TGS 2016 conference. The Lunar Edition Bundle in Japan includes the new PS4 Slim, the controller with the decal and a copy of Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy XV was slated to release after a decade in development on Sept. 30, but was delayed for the ump-teenth time in August. It’s scheduled to release the same day as the bundle, Nov. 29, 2016.
With the PlayStation 4 Slim coming out Sept. 15 and the PlayStation 4 Pro releasing on Nov. 10, I’ve seen comments on the internet as to why release the Lunar Edition PlayStation 4 Slim instead of the Pro? If anyone were to ask why I believe they aren’t releasing it on the PlayStation 4 Pro, I’d respond with something along the lines of because the game was originally supposed to release at the end of September, and the PlayStation 4 Slim would have already been out for nearly two weeks. I can’t help but wonder if Sony was going to announce the bundle at the announcement event last week. Maybe these delay affected more than just my plans on my birthday weekend.
