At this point, Pokemon games breaking sales records isn’t exactly unexpected, but with the recent release of Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! the franchise has taken its record breaking to new consoles. Specifically, the Nintendo Switch, selling 3 million copies combined in their first week of release, making it the biggest launch to date for the platform. This was published by The Pokemon Company on their official Twitter account, translated by Gematsu. Both games launched on November 16th.

Additionally, Let’s Go Pikachu! and Eevee! also topped the British sales charts, outselling both Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Fallout 76 when combined, while Spyro Reignited took number 1 if the two Pokemon titles are counted separately. Considering this is the game that is branching the distance between mobile phenomenon Pokemon Go, which was many people’s first introduction to the franchise, and the traditional handheld game series, the sales shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. In fact, for those who play Pokemon Go, Let’s Go is the easiest way to acquire the new pokemon Meltan in the game.

Previously reported, Let's Go Pikachu! and Eevee! got off to a good start with Japanese sales, topping those charts by selling 664,198 copies in just three days. That does not include digital sales estimates but does include physical copies, Pokeball Plus copies, download cards and bundles with the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the sales reports for the Switch have tripled in Japan, selling over 180,000 units for the week of November 12th to the 18th, with just over 53,000 units sold the previous week.

What do you think of Let's Go Pikachu! and Eevee!? Are you already playing them or are you waiting to see if there are any Black Friday deals you can snag? How do they compare to the original Pokemon Yellow game? Let us know in the comments below!
